Hiya, Jill, and welcome to planDisney! Your upcoming vacation is just about a month away, and I can see you're thinking of ways to maximize the value of the
Disney dining plans while daydreaming about some delicious and refreshing adult beverages! Let's dish about the dining plans so you'll be ready to sip and savor while enjoying all the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort!
I think you'll be happy to hear that both the
Disney Quick Service Dining Plan and the
Disney Dining Plan allow Guests age 21 and older to enjoy a single-serving alcoholic beverage such as beer, cider, wine, sangria, mixed drinks, or specialty cocktails alongside their quick service and table service meals, where offered.
To help you plan for which specialty drinks might wet your whistle while on vacation, you can search the
participating restaurants online and explore all the menus ahead of your visit to have an idea of which drinks you'd like to sample! On a recent visit, my friend and I dined at
ABC Commissary and had a hard time choosing between the Watermelon Margarita and the Happy Daze - so we got one of each! No regrets were made!
And did you know you can also use your
quick service meals at some poolside bar and grills? If you're taking time to relax by the pool at your resort, you might find that you can even mobile order a meal and a drink to enjoy right from your lounge chair! That's my kind of magic!
Jill, before I let you go, it looks like your visit is going to coincide with the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which features so many unique
food and drink specialty items at the various outdoor kitchens in the park! Many of these items can be purchased using snack credits on the dining plans; just look for the purple and white dining plan logo on the posted menus to see what is available! It's a great way to try some festival goodies, although alcoholic beverages cannot be redeemed for snack credits at this time. My personal favorite from my last trip was the Tamale de Rajas at Jardin de Fiestas in the Mexico Pavilion, and I've also heard rave reviews about the Desert Violet Lemonade (which is nonalcoholic) at the Pineapple Promenade. With so many delicious selections, whatever you choose to sip, sample, or savor, I'm sure you're going to enjoy it!
I hope this has been helpful, and I hope you will come back to us at
planDisney with any other vacation planning questions you might have as you count down the days to your magical adventures!
Cheers!
Alison
