Is club level worth it? Stayed theme park view at the contemporary and it was wonderful, we watched the fireworks from our balcony. Give that up to do resort view/club level? Do club level and not do A dining plan? Thoughts, feelings? Help please!

Welcome back to planDisney Tara! Thank you so much for stopping by again with your question. It sounds like you’ve already had a magical stay at Disney’s Contemporary Resort with that incredible theme park view, and I love that you were able to enjoy the fireworks right from your balcony. Now that you’re considering a new experience with Club Level, and I’d be happy to share some insights to help you decide whether the upgrade and possibly skipping the dining plan might be the right fit for your next trip!

Club Level at Disney World is more about convenience and pampering than wow views. You’ll get access to a lounge with continental breakfast in the morning, snacks throughout the day, evening hors d’oeuvres that can be hearty enough to serve as dinner some nights, plus desserts and cordials at night. Drinks, including sodas, beer, wine, and some liquors, are included too. You also have a dedicated concierge team to help with reservations and planning, which can take a lot of the stress out of your trip.

When comparing it to the dining plan, Club Level can help you skip buying one if you’re comfortable relying on lounge offerings for breakfast and light meals. The last time my family and I stayed Club Level, we found that we only needed to buy one solid meal in the park each day, which balanced out food costs. The dining plan, on the other hand, makes more sense if you want lots of character meals, prix-fixe dining, or table service experiences every day.

The trade off is really between the magic of the fireworks from your balcony versus the convenience of having food, drinks, and a lounge at your disposal. If watching fireworks from your balcony felt like a core Disney memory, it’s hard to top that. If you’d enjoy the ease of always having food and drinks available and like the idea of skipping the dining plan, then Club Level makes a lot of sense. Both are great experiences, it just depends if this trip is more about the view and magic or about comfort and convenience.

Tara, I hope this helps you feel more confident as you weigh the benefits of Club Level against the magic of that unforgettable theme park view. No matter which option you choose, your stay at Walt Disney World Resort is sure to be filled with comfort, magic, and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you again for visiting planDisney with your question, and I’m wishing you and your family a vacation sprinkled with pixie dust, magical moments, and plenty of Disney joy from start to finish!
