Is the Club level is worth spending the extra $? Specifically, what is served for continental breakfast & afternoon snacks? What about concierge? I am trying to decide if to upgrade, we have garden view at Florida.

For us, staying concierge/club level is a splurge. I’ve only stayed Concierge once at the Grand Floridian and we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. Recently we enjoyed the Club Level at the Boardwalk Inn.

Most trips, I prefer to spend our vacation dollars in other ways such as a room view upgrade, a special meal, souvenirs or on a unique experience such as a Wishes fireworks cruise.

GF’s Club Level Concierge is located in the Main Building’s Royal Palm Club on the fourth floor and the Sugar Loaf Key building.

At the Grand Floridian, you’ll find typical continental breakfast type food in the Concierge Lounge. Items such as fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, pastries and juice, tea and coffee are offered.

Afternoon offerings will depend on when you stop by. If you catch the lunch items they may include veggies with dip, cheese and crackers, small sandwiches, potato chips, cookies, lemonade, iced tea, bottled water, coffee and Coke products. During “tea time”, you’ll discover cookies, scones, breads, jams and similar beverages as noted for lunch.

For our family, only the food at breakfast serves as a meal replacement. Unless dining at a restaurant we tend to eat light for this meal. The snacks are also nice in that we don’t have to purchase extra items from a Quick Service location.

Staying Concierge does let you enjoy a special level of service and the amenities are wonderful. However, I would only upgrade to this level for a special occasion or if I didn’t need or want to spend that money elsewhere. How much is this special experience worth to your family? You’ll receive a USA Today newspaper each morning just outside your door. Snacks will be nearby at all times. Club Level Assistance is available most of the day. As much as I enjoy this pampering, I would rather stay an extra night at the regular rate!
