Hi! What are the clothing storage options like in the new Fort Wilderness Cabins - closet(s), drawers, etc.? Are there any drawers in the bathroom? Can you store suitcases under the bedroom bed? Thank you! Love planDisney!

    Hey Alesia,

Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so glad to see that you’ve returned to us with this great question about your future Walt Disney World vacation. As a girl who travels with family and loves a fashionable moment, I can certainly relate to your need for storage! I’m happy to tell you all about your options.

The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are such a great home base for your stay. You’ll really feel like you’re one with nature as you enjoy the beautiful view from your floor-to-ceiling windows and even step out on your private patio with comfortable seating. These cozy cabins can sleep up to 6 adults comfortably. You and I both know that 6 people will have a considerable amount of luggage, and this cabin can fit all of it nicely. In the bedroom, you’ll have an open wardrobe area with hangers and space to hang a solid number of cute Disney outfits. Under the rack you’ll also have 3 open shelves. Next to the wardrobe you’ll find a dresser with 3 large drawers, a safe and 2 more shelves. Opposite the dresser is your queen bed which has plenty of open space underneath for empty (or full) suitcases. Across from the queen bed you’ll find three more drawers under the adorable woodland-themed twin bunk beds and one nightstand-style drawer between the two beds.

Moving out to the hallway near the bathroom you’ll find a small closet with additional storage space including another shelf and a smaller spot to hang clothing. While there aren’t any drawers in the bathroom, there are two open cubbies under the sink. One holds hand towels/wash cloths and the other will be where you can find the blow dryer. You could easily move the blow dryer over to the other side and use the empty cubby for toiletries, etc.

Now Alesia, your stay will be right after Christmas, so you’ll get to experience all of the beautiful holiday decor around the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. The main areas of the resort will be decked out in the most stunning way, but don’t forget to rent a golf cart and ride around the campgrounds during your stay so you can see the amazingly beautiful decorations the guests put up each year. Guests have been known to go all out decking the halls, so I’m sure you will love this.

Remember to also check out the resort’s amenities and recreational activities. This particular resort has so many fun options that you might not even really need park tickets! You can find everything from archery to wagon rides. Did you know that this resort is home to the equestrian friends you'll find throughout the resort? Visit Tri-Circle D Ranch to show them some love. Some experiences are part of Disney’s Enchanting Extras Collection and may require advance reservations. Be ready to book these experiences at 60 days prior to your arrival date.

I hope this information was helpful, Alesia. Please come back and let us know if we can help you with any other planning details. Here at planDisney we love to help you maximize your Disney vacations! TTFN… ta-ta for now!
