Ahoy, Joey! We appreciate you cruising our way.
Being out at sea used to mean “unplugging” from daily life. I’m happy to report that once you connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi, you have a few options to stay connected with your family onboard and at home.
The
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app has a built-in chat feature to keep in touch with your traveling crew. There are even Disney emojis to accompany your messages. If you have an iPhone, you can send and receive iMessages from your friends and family at home. You just won’t be able to see any pictures or videos sent. I called a Disney Cruise Line agent, and they shared that you should be able to use WhatsApp text messaging. I say “should” because I did not receive any messages from WhatsApp on my last cruise. My dog sitter uses the app, and I had to wait until we were in port to connect to cell service to receive puppy updates.
The Disney Magic does have upgraded internet packages that are time-based instead of usage-based. Once on board, you can select a package to check your email, surf the web, post pictures on social media, or even stream your favorite music platforms. On my last sailing aboard the Disney Wish, packages started as low as $12 for 24 hours. Rates could change when you sail, so check the app for the latest information.
The
Disney Magic is one of my favorite ships! It’s the only ship in the Disney fleet to boast the
AquaDunk, a three-story plunge that twists and turns around the ship. It’s also the only ship with
Rapunzel’s Royal Table. This rotational dining restaurant is filled with glowing lanterns and Rapunzel’s drawings. There’s singing and dancing – even a few mischievous Snuggly Duckling Thugs stop by. Order Rapunzel’s Fry Pan Sweet Bread for dessert. It’s delicious!
I hope you have a fantastic voyage, Joey! Please sail our way again. My Pals and I are delighted to help!
SEAS the adventure!
