Howdy, Marshall! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for your question!
As someone who regularly flies from Colorado to the Disneyland Resort, I have a very strong opinion about which airport to fly into. Whenever I make the trek to the Happiest Place on Earth, I always fly into
John Wayne (Orange County) Airport. John Wayne Airport is the closest airport and only about 20-30 minutes away from the parks. Plus, the airport itself is quite small and so easy to navigate! You can disembark the plane, grab your luggage from baggage claim, and be out the door in less than 20 minutes. (Quite the contrast to the long waits we sometimes encounter at Denver International Airport.)
When it comes to
getting from the airport to the Disneyland Resort, my family typically takes a ride share service like Uber or Lyft. The cost is usually around $40 and, if possible, I would try to schedule your arrival time to avoid peak rush hour traffic. When it's time to come home, you will also love just how fast you can check your luggage, get through security, and get to your gate. I can honestly say that sometimes that entire process takes me less than 10 minutes!
As you can see, I can't sing the praises of John Wayne Airport loud enough! I hope you have a wonderful time at the Disneyland Resort!
