Hi there, Laurice!
Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations on becoming a United States citizen! I love that you are celebrating your new citizenship with a voyage on the
Disney Cruise Line!
Documentation requirements depend on the departure port and itinerary for the cruise. I suggest visiting the
Passports, Visas, & Citizenship Documentation page for information specific to your voyage. For example, United States citizens sailing on roundtrip cruises starting in the United States require a valid U.S. Passport, a valid U.S. Passport Card, or an original valid Trusted Traveler Card (such as NEXUS or FAST).
Other documentation options are available for these roundtrip, U.S.-based cruises if the Guest does not have one of those documents, including an original Certificate of Naturalization issued by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and a physical government-issued photo ID. Guests who are legal permanent residents of the U.S. (but aren't citizens) must present a valid original Permanent Resident Card (photocopies are not accepted). Since this is just an example of what could be required, it is important to review the Documentation page to ensure you have the paperwork needed for your specific cruise. You can also
call a friendly Cast Member at the Disney Cruise Line if you would like assistance in determining what is required for your cruise.
I always recommend that Guests get passports, if possible. Passports expedite the check-in process and make it easier to access transportation from another country in the event of a rare emergency during your voyage. If there is time before your cruise, go ahead and get your passport. You never know where else you may want to travel!
A passport also makes it easy to take advantage of the
Disney Cruise Line Onboard Booking Offer when onboard your ship! This offer is only available when sailing on the Disney Cruise Line, and it allows Guests to access a discounted rate for a future cruise. As part of this offer, Guests can also enjoy a reduced deposit on select sailings of 7-nights and longer. It is the perfect excuse to book another cruise!
Laurice, I hope this information was helpful. Please reach out to planDisney again if you have other questions.
Happy sailing!
Jen
