Ciao! Going to WDWD 9/27. FL resident so I'm driving there. Staying at CS. With a 2yo boy, is it better to drive or take buses to and from parks. Considering the stroller, etc, what's best at park closing time with least hassle/wait time?

    Hi Ingrid,

In my experience, Disney has an uncanny ability to lull young children to sleep.  The problem is that this "force" tends to exert itself just as the kids' exhausted parents are making their way through the turnstiles toward the park exits, hoping that they won't have to fold their strollers with a drooling, limp, thirty-pound weight on their shoulders, still sticky from that last Mickey ice cream bar!  Believe me, I've been there many times, and understand your desire to strategize the easiest way back to your resort.

We often rent a car while vacationing at Disney, but rarely use it to travel to the parks, because we find Disney transportation to be more convenient and quicker.  The bottom line is that if you have a sleeping child in tow, you will need to fold your stroller and transfer the little guy to some type of vehicle, whether it's your car or a bus.  At the Magic Kingdom, the parking lot is not adjacent to the park, so if you chose to drive, you'll need to take a boat or monorail to the Ticket and Transportation Center first.  Therefore, I would absolutely recommend Disney transportation to and from this park.  The other parking lots are closer to the park entrances, however, depending upon where your spot is, you may need to take a tram to your car to avoid a long walk, so, again, I'd vote for Disney transportation.

Having a rental car can come in handy, however, if you have dining reservations at other Disney Resorts, as travelling to other properties can take a while, and require multiple connections.  We love to dine at a variety of restaurants on property, and use our car to travel to and from the other resorts.

    Have a wonderful trip!
