Hi Guillaume, welcome back to planDisney. It is great to see your name pop up again. Guests returning with new questions over the years is one of my favorite parts of being on this panel, and I appreciate you coming back to keep the planning going.
There is something special about visiting during the most wonderful time of year. Each park has its own style of decorations, every resort leans into its theme with seasonal touches, and there are plenty of limited-time treats and sips scattered throughout the property. It all comes together to create a feeling that is hard to beat.
Let’s take a deep dive into
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. As you may already know, the lobby is in the middle of a significant refurbishment. That includes a new Guest check-in desk, a brand new lobby bar called
The Perch, and other updates that are helping refresh the overall space. Because of that work, some of the holiday staples we are used to will look a little different this year. The gingerbread house is taking the year off, but the towering Christmas tree will still be making its return. I checked with a Cast Member on your behalf, and they confirmed that the lobby tree is indeed coming back. While Disney has not shared a specific date, I would expect to see it appear any day now.
If by chance you visit before the tree goes up, you can still get your holiday fix with a little resort hopping. My personal must-sees are
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both lobbies feature massive Christmas trees that feel perfectly in sync with their settings. Wilderness Lodge has that warm, lodge-style look that feels like stepping into a postcard, and Animal Kingdom Lodge has a tree that is just as impressive, filled with unique ornaments inspired by African art and culture. I also enjoy the
Beach Club and
Yacht Club trees, especially with their nautical-themed decorations that remind me a bit of my own mid-Atlantic coastal roots.
Since we are talking holidays, I also want to point you toward the
EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays. Storytellers share traditions from around the world, seasonal dishes fill the outdoor kitchens, and Candlelight Processional brings a truly memorable energy. It is one of my favorite parts of the season.
Guillaume, I hope this helps as you get ready for your upcoming visit. If you have any more holiday questions or want more suggestions on where to find the best décor, treats, or festive experiences, come back to planDisney anytime.
I will be ready to dive in like Scrooge McDuck.
Happy holidays!
Brent
