Hi there, Maddie - welcome to
planDisney!
The
winter holiday season is, in my humble opinion, the most magical time to take a vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! I see that you're arriving the day before Halloween, so depending on how long you'll be staying, you might get to experience the transition from Halloween to Christmas! If you haven't already watched it, I highly recommend the
Decorating Disney: Holiday Magic special on Disney+. There, you'll learn all about the big holiday transformations that take place across Walt Disney World Resort!
There really isn't an official timeline for decorating, but we can make some assumptions based on previous years. For example, this year, the final Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is on October 31st, and the first
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is on November 8th. That means that most if not all of the decorating should be done at Magic Kingdom Park the week in between. It can take a few weeks for
everything to be transformed, including the Resorts, Disney Springs, and Theme Parks. There are many different factors that come into play, but if you're staying more than just a few days, you'll definitely get at least a glimpse of some winter holiday magic!
When it comes to delicious holiday treats, the story is usually the same, although some items are formally launched on specific days. I suggest keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for updates on all the holiday celebrations - once we get a little bit closer there may be more details, including some dates!
I hope this information is helpful as you begin planning your vacation.
Please let me know if any additional questions come up along the way!
