Will there be christmas lights at the castle this year?

Season's Greetings, Christian! Celebrating the holiday season at the Most Magical Place on Earth is extra special; with the recent celebration of Halfway to the Holidays released by Disney Parks, it's hard to not get into the holiday spirit, even though it's only summertime! Let's talk about all things very merry to help you prepare for your Christmas visit!

Christian, the lights on Cinderella Castle are one of my favorite memories of visiting Magic Kingdom Park during the holiday season. At this time, however, there has been no announcement about their return. For the last several years, the castle was festively adorned with holiday projections, which also bring joy to the (Disney) World. The best place to watch for any updates about the decorations will be the Disney Parks Blog as the season draws near.

Speaking of decorations, one of my most favorite holiday activities is stopping by some of the Disney Resort hotels to check out their holiday displays! Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa traditionally boasts a larger-than-life gingerbread house; this year would mark the 25th anniversary of this display, and I can't wait to see what the team creates! Disney's Beach Club Resort is traditionally home to a Holiday Gingerbread Carousel, and Disney's Contemporary Resort also houses a gingerbread display each year! Aside from gingerbread, all Disney Resort hotels will have festive Christmas trees in their lobbies; I love seeing how each one represents its home resort and find the magical Disney touches as well.

Christian, even without the lights on the castle, you are sure to find so much festive decor! Main Street, U.S.A. comes to life with lights up and down the buildings and the giant Christmas tree at the foot of the street is the most iconic sight! Stay tuned online for details about all of the holiday fun and festive decorations, and remember tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be on sale starting July 2 for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and July 10 for all other Guests! I highly recommend spending an evening at this special ticketed event if you have the time!

I'm wishing you the most perfect holiday and the most magical vacation ever, and if you have any other vacation planning questions, come back to planDisney and let us know! We're happy to deck the halls with pixie dust, tinsel, and a little extra magic to help you make the most of your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

    Stay Very Merry,
