Will Christmas displays and gingerbread houses still be available to view the 1st week of January 2019?

    Hi Kelly!

I'm so happy to help you get ready for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation, which isn't too far way! You will be visiting Mickey during a great time because you will be able to catch the end of the holiday celebrations and you will get to take a break from cold winter weather to enjoy the fantastic Florida winter.

My family and I are also counting down to our own holiday vacation to Walt Disney World Resort and I was just telling them about the incredible gingerbread displays throughout the Disney Resort hotels! Since you will be traveling the first week of January, I would expect that at least some of the Christmas decorations and gingerbread displays will still be up during your trip. We know that Flurry of Fun at Disney’s Hollywood Studios runs through January 6, so you will be able to enjoy holiday decorations and festivities at that theme park during your visit. Unfortunately, the 2018 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays ends on December 30, so I would expect some of the decorations will begin coming down in early January.

Last year, information about the gingerbread displays throughout the Disney Resort hotels was posted on the Disney Parks Blog during the second week in November. The displays were taken down last year during the first week of January, so hopefully you will be able to enjoy them during the beginning of your vacation. I recommend that you keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog over the next few weeks for announcements about this year's holiday celebrations as that may help you plan your itinerary so you can enjoy holiday decorations and displays during your trip.

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
