When are the Christmas decorations up this year?

Hello, Lance! Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel and asking your question!

Summer has unofficially begun, but many folks, like you, are planning their getaways for the holiday season. The Holidays are a glorious time to visit the Disneyland Resort as nearly every inch is adorned with lights, tinsel, or garland. We don’t quite yet know the exact dates of the Holidays for 2018, but in the past, the parks began their transition immediately after Halloween. It usually takes a week or two to completely transform the parks with all the Holiday décor, so I would guess that by mid-November the Holidays will have begun. Then the celebration usually lasts until early January.

In addition to all the dazzling decorations, you can enjoy seasonal overlays on select attractions. Haunted Mansion Holiday delights Guests with its collision of Christmas and Halloween and “it’s a small world” Holiday is simply a show stopper! Over in Disney California Adventure Park, Guests can experience Mater’s Jingle Jamboree and Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl. Plus, don’t miss out on the Festive Food Marketplace kiosks that offer all sorts of holiday-inspired food and drinks.

Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming months for an announcement about the official start of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort. And return to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions you have as you plan your adventure!
