When do the Christmas decorations go up in the parks?

    Hi Jeri,

The Christmas finery starts going up at Walt Disney World during the first week in November. In fact, at Magic Kingdom, it seems to appear almost overnight as the park makes the quick transition from the final Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party to the first Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, usually held the first Friday night in November.

By mid-November, most of the decorations should be in place throughout Walt Disney World.

If you are visiting between mid-November and the first week in January, I encourage you to take a little time to tour the resorts to see their decorations, too.

I'm especially fond of the trees at the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge and the gingerbread creations in the lobby of the Boardwalk. Plus, I don't think it's a holiday without a sampler of gingerbread from the Gingerbread House in the lobby of the Grand Floridian.

I hope that's helpful. Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, and please let us know if we can do anything else for you as you make your vacation plans. Enjoy!
