When do the Christmas decorations go up at Disneyland and California Adventure parks?

Hey there, Jaime! Thanks for bringing your festive question to us on planDisney! Oh my, as a planner myself, I love that you’re already planning ahead and thinking of Christmas. It may only be early June, but the Holidays will be here before we know it!

You’ve got me craving peppermint mocha while strolling down Main Street, U.S.A. and the candy cane beignets at the Mint Julep Bar. But of course, who can pass up the opportunity to gaze at the glistening snow-capped turrets of Sleeping Beauty Castle during the holidays?

Historically, Disneyland Resort was decked out with holiday décor around Veterans’ Day. Well before Thanksgiving week, festive holiday decorations could be found throughout both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. As you know, Disneyland Resort is focused on enhanced health measures and safety of all Guests and Cast Members during this initial phased reopening. No information has been released yet regarding fall or Christmas at this time. I recommend staying tuned to Disney Parks Blog and Disneyland.com for the latest official park news. Be sure to check out Disneyland Resort’s social media channels as well.

Ooh, you got me thinking about planning a trip for the holidays! Right now, the Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar is opened through October 7, 2021. If Disneyland Resort continues this process of booking theme park reservations up to 120 days in advance, you will be able to book a visit to enjoy holiday decoration in a little over a month!

If you have additional questions with planning your upcoming trip, please don’t hesitate to write us again. We’re all EARS!

    Have a magical day,

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
