When do the Christmas decorations come down in the parks and at the resorts? We will be arriving and staying at the all star music from January 8-12, 2026

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Nicole!

Welcome to planDisney! We are THRILLED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! We are excited that you will celebrate the start of your New Year filled with MAGIC, memories, and maybe a touch of leftover holiday sparkle! So grab your ears, pack your spirit of adventure, and get ready to start the year off at the "Most Magical Place on Earth!"

I have to say that you are going to love staying at the All-Star Music Resort! It’s one of the most fun and lively spots in all of Disney World! The whole place feels like a celebration of your favorite tunes, with giant guitars, trumpets, and musical notes decorating every corner. The themed sections make it feel like you’re walking through a living playlist, and the atmosphere is pure joy from sunrise to encore. The pools are a hit too, especially the Calypso Pool, shaped like a guitar, where Mickey leads the fun in true showtime style.

So, here’s the scoop on those twinkling decorations. Disney typically begins taking down the Christmas decor during the first full week of January. The process occurs gradually, so some parks or resorts may still have a few wreaths or trees up, while others are already back to their year-round look. Magic Kingdom usually starts first, followed by the resorts and the other parks. By the time you arrive on January 8, most of the large displays, like the towering Christmas trees and themed garlands, will likely be packed away.

However, you still might spot a few festive touches hanging around, especially at the resorts. Sometimes, Cast Members leave smaller decorations or wintery floral arrangements up for a few extra days, and you never know where you might find a little leftover holiday pixie dust! Even if most décor is down, the atmosphere at Disney in January is still full of cheer. It’s also the perfect time to enjoy the parks without the hustle and bustle of the peak holiday rush. Plus, there’s something extra MAGICAL about walking down Main Street, U.S.A., with cooler air, shorter lines, and maybe even humming a few Christmas tunes in your heart.

As you continue to plan, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date information on all things Disney. Mickey and his pals have some exciting surprises planned, and we don't want you to miss any of the fun!

Let us know if you have other questions! We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
