When do the Christmas decorations come down in the Magic Kingdom? My family is going down in January 2013 and I wonder if we will see them?

    Hi Kirsten!

How exciting that your family will be visiting Walt Disney World next month!

As beautiful as the Christmas decorations are, they too have an end date each season. Usually, decorations around the parks and resorts begin to be dismantled as early as New Years Day. There is often no trace of them before the first week of January is done!

Sad as it is to see them go, it makes us all look forward to that next time we can visit Walt Disney World during the holiday season. There's something so magical about the décor. If you're planning a future visit and would like to experience the Christmas decorations first-hand, consider visiting between the middle of November and the end of December. One of my favourite times to visit is early December, after American Thanksgiving is over. I find the weather to be favourable, crowds low and resort and airline pricing to be great! It works for me!

Even if you don't get to experience the magic of the holiday season during this visit, have no fear that there will be plenty of other magical experiences awaiting your family!

Wishing you and your family a simply Magical time at Walt Disney World Kirsten!
