Hiya Ashley,
Welcome to planDisney! While I love the incredible holiday decorations at Walt Disney World Resort, my aversion to the huge crowds has prevented me from ticking a Christmas Day trip off my bucket list (at least for now). Since I don’t want to miss out on the
holiday magic completely, I tend to head to Walt Disney World Resort in November or early December to experience some holiday cheer.
Ashley, when the clock strikes midnight on the holiday season, the holiday pixie dust starts to wind down for the year (but it doesn’t completely disappear). Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific date announced for when the parks and resorts transform back into their original form, but over the last few years, we have seen some lingering through at least the first week of January (usually completely gone by the time the
Walt Disney World Resort Marathon Weekend begins). Since the decorations come down earlier some years, I cannot guarantee that you will see any decorations at the Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels when you visit in January.
I will keep my fingers crossed that some holiday decorations are still displayed during your visit, Ashley. I know it will add an extra dose of magic to your vacation! Before I let you go, don’t forget to ensure you have
Disney Park Pass Reservations for your trip. Starting January 9th, reservations will not be required for date-based tickets, but since you are visiting before that, you will still need them to enter the Theme Parks.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
