Happy Christmas in July, Cheryl!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I just love that you are already thinking about a merry and magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort – nobody decks the halls quite like Disney, and
holiday magic swirls like snowflakes in the air throughout the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs at this special time of year.
In Epcot’s Germany Pavilion,
Biergarten Restaurant evokes an outdoor beer garden during Oktoberfest. Enjoy traditional German fare and, for Guests 21 and older, raise your beer stein in a toast. As you enjoy the buffet, a band plays German folk songs, and you can take a spin on the dance floor or clap and sing along. (I have the BEST video of my son doing the chicken dance along with the band!)
When my husband visited Germany during the holidays a few years ago, he was completely charmed by their Christmas markets – and during the holidays, Biergarten Restaurant is transformed into a German Christmas market, with seasonal décor and touches. The band even plays holiday polkas! It’s absolutely gorgeous and a great way to feel the holiday spirit.
Cheryl, we don’t have an official date for the transformation, but my understanding is that it usually happens the week of Thanksgiving. The
Disney Parks Blog is a great source for announcements about holiday offerings, but note that these things do sometimes happen without fanfare. As we get closer to November, you might have luck calling (407) WDW-DINE to see if they know when the Christmas décor and entertainment will appear.
Did you know that there are
Candlelight Processional Dining Packages available at Biergarten Restaurant during the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays? When you reserve a dining package, you can enjoy a meal and reserved seating at the joyous
Candlelight Processional. The
2019 Epcot International Festival of the Holidays begins November 29 and includes so much festive fun, including traditional storytellers around the World Showcase, a holiday cookie stroll, holiday kitchens, and fabulous decorations. Good thing it’s Christmas in July, because I am SO ready! Bring on the jolly!
Wishing you a magical visit,
Robyn
