Hi Chris, Taking my family to WDW for the first time in September. I've been told that I should get Disney Dollars as a surprise gift for my boys age 7 & 8. Where can I purchase them? And will they be able to use them anywhere they choose to buy souven

    Hi Cian!
Sounds like an exciting fall is brewing at your house!! Disney dollars are a great way to give children a little bit of responsibility during their Walt Disney World vacations. Many people give Disney dollars as a token gift, "surprise" gift (as in, "We're going to Disney World!!") or souvenir gift (to keep in their albums) to kids about to embark on a Disney adventure...be it their first trip, 10th, or 100th. With the dollars, kids can decide how, when and where they spend some of their vacation allowance and learn how to budget for things they think they want versus things they really want.
They used to come in a variety of denominations before the introduction of "gift cards". For a while, Disney dollars became hard to come by, but there's good news for 2013...DISNEY DOLLARS ARE BACK!! They are now available in both a hero and villain theme and come in $1 denominations. They can be purchased at Guest Services in any of the theme parks, at any Walt Disney World resort and at the World of Disney Store in Downtown DIsney.
I hope this helps and I wish you all a Magical trip this fall!! :)
