Choosing a resort has been very difficult, they all seem so great. Deciding between PO Riverside or French Quarters. Have kids 13,5,6 and grandparents getting 2 rooms. What are some of the differences and which one do kids seem to enjoy more? Thanks!

    Hi Lynda!

I would definitely pick Port Orleans Riverside over Port Orleans French Quarter.  That's mostly because of the main pool area at Port Orleans Riverside.  It is a lot more fun, especially for older children like your 13 year old.  It has a relatively long water slide and great theming.  The pool at French Quarter is best suited for young children and while you have young children, my two boys really did not enjoy the pool there after turning 6.  You can also go cane pole fishing at Port Orleans Riverside; the fishing hole is located right next to the main pool area.  There's also a great playground for young children at Riverside.  Port Orleans has a nicer food court and it also has a Table Service restaurant that is open for dinner.

That said, Port Orleans French Quarter is my second favorite Disney Moderate Resort after Riverside so you really can't go wrong.  As a guest of either, you can use all of the service and amenities of the other.  That includes pool hopping, so you can stay at French Quarter and just walk or take the boat to Riverside to use the pool there.

Good luck with your decision, and please write back with more questions!
