Hello there, Crystal, and welcome to planDisney!
Like in any good Disney movie, decisions must be made. Alice venturing down the Rabbit Hole, Pinocchio avoiding or submitting to temptation, and Mulan joining the fight against the Huns. Just like these characters, you’ll have the power to choose your own path using the
Disability Access Service (DAS) during your Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
With DAS, if you qualify, you can skip the (oftentimes) longer queues for attractions and select return times for the Lightning Lane instead. My family finds this super helpful when we’re with a member who cannot wait in the longer lines due to certain conditions.
Before I dive into how to select your own one-hour return times, let’s talk about how to register for DAS:
-The first way to register is via a virtual pre-registration. You can do DAS Advance online via a video chat with a Cast Member who will determine your eligibility. Do this between 2 and 30 days before your journey begins. What I love about this option is that the Cast Member will ask you for preferences and pre-select two return times for you during the chat.
-You can also register via Guest Services on your first theme park visit. These locations are located in buildings near the theme parks' entrances. A Cast Member will help determine your eligibility and set you up for your first Lightning Lane return time of the day.
After you are all set up for your first Lightning Lane return times, you can create your next selections via the
My Disney Experience app's DAS Self-Selection Tool. The DAS icon will appear on your My Disney Experience’s home page (the three horizontal lines) once you’re registered.
AN EXTRA GEM: If you don’t want to set up your next selection on your own, visit a Cast Member at the blue Guest Experience Team umbrellas around each theme park.
Crystal, I hope that you have an amazing vacation this month! While you’re in my neck of the woods, you must consider visiting the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. There’s not just yummy global foods to try, but my family loves jamming out to the Eat to the Beat Concert Series as well.
Let us know if you have any other questions as you gear up for your trip.
Magic always,
LeAndra
