    If you choose the snorkel rental excursion at Castaway Cay does it give you any special access to a snorkeling location you would not normally get to. I was trying to determine if we should just bring our own gear. Thanks

    Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! If you're asking about Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, you must be getting ready to set sail on a Disney Cruise to paradise! I love visiting Castaway Cay during our voyages. There are so many things to do on the island to keep busy. I love walking around, eating, snorkeling and playing on the beach with my son!

    You asked an excellent question about the Snorkel Lagoon Equipment Rentals! When families rent snorkel equipment from Disney Cruise Line, they have access to the same Snorkeling Lagoon off Castaway Family Beach that families who do not rent equipment enjoy. If you have your own snorkeling gear, I recommend bringing it! You will be exploring the same exciting underwater trails as those who rent their gear! If you are a beginner snorkeler, I recommend following the Discover Trail. If you have multiple snorkeling expeditions under your fins, I suggest experiencing the Explorer Trail!

    Even if you bring your snorkeling gear from home, you and your family will need to wear a yellow life vest while snorkeling on Castaway Cay. They are complimentary on the island and can be picked up at either Gil's Fins and Boats or Flippers & Floats!
