What would you choose? Shorter stay @ a Moderate Hotel or longer stay @ a value resort the week of xmas? At a value resort could stay between 8-10 days but could not do that at a moderate resort with DH, DD5 and DD1 (almost 2) & me. It is 1st family tr

Hi Connie!  By all means I vote for the longer stay and the value resort. Most families don't spend a lot of time in their rooms as they are in the parks all day. The Value Resorts are clean and efficient and just don't have the finer amenities such as water slides for the pool or table service dining opportunities. The rooms are a bit smaller but still large enough to move around and take care of your needs.

When choosing a Value I recommend Pop Century resort. It is a great location and has its own designated bus line which means you don't share the busses with any other resort.  The All Star Resorts will share with each other and those busses can tend to be a bit more crowded. The All Star Resorts also tend to draw more of the groups although over Christmas this usually isn't the case.

Please consider looking at the newest Disney resort which will be a Value, The Art of Animation. This resort will open in May 2012 and will have great family suites for an affordable price. Call central reservations for the availability and pricing for December 2012. 407-934-7639  This resort is located just across from Pop Century and will also have its own designated bus line to the parks.

There is so much to see and do at Walt Disney World so whatever time you can spend there you will find fun things to keep you busy and happy. Check out the resorts and their fabulous holiday decorations such as the chocolate carrousel at the Beach Club or the larger then life gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. Downtown Disney will be hopping with lots of excitement and don't forget a trip over to Fort Wilderness for a carriage ride or visit to the Disney stables. Yes, my vote is value and longer stay!
