I have to choose between Sanaa and Boma for 2 adults. Which one are the best for the food and the ambiance. Is it possible to see animals in both? Is 5pm in mid-november a good time to see animal?

    Hi Amelie,

That's a tough choice! My family loves the food at both restaurants, but they are different experiences. Let me see if I can help you decide what's right for you.

Boma is located in Jambo House, the original part of Animal Kingdom Lodge. It is an all-you-care-to-eat buffet where you can find some traditional food as well as delicious tastes of Africa. Among my favorite dishes is the bobotie, a spiced meat pie with a custard topping. Oh, and don't miss the zebra domes for dessert.

The advantage of a buffet is that you can have a bite of many dishes. I think the only disadvantage is that you need to leave the table and your dinner companion to do so.

You cannot see animals from the restaurant, but you can see them from other areas of the hotel before and after dinner. Cast members sometimes are available with night vision glasses to help after sunset.

Sanaa is located in the Kidani Village section of the resort. The menu features dishes with African and Indian influences, designed to share. For the four of us, we usually get a salad sampler, a vegetable sampler and a couple of meat dishes, along with a selection of breads. It's like having a mini-buffet at the table.

We are particularly fond of the lamb vindaloo and the mustard-seed crusted scallops. One note: There's little to choose here if your tastes run to plain meat and potatoes. We see that as an advantage, but it can be a surprise for some.

You can see animals from inside the restaurant at Sanaa, and there is a viewing area just outside with a fire pit and rocking chairs.

I hope that gives you enough guidance to make the choice that is right for you. I also suggest reviewing the menus on the Disney website or the independent site, allears.net. Please let me know if I can offer any other advice as you make your final plans. Enjoy!
