To all who come to planDisney, welcome! Hey Sarah, that was a little artistic license taken from Walt Disney's Disneyland opening speech on July 17, 1955. I am so glad you stopped by with your question. It is never too early to begin planning for a Walt Disney World Resort vacation.
As of now Theme Park tickets, not included in a Disney Resort Hotel Package, must be paid in full. The upside is that you are eight and one-half months away from your magical adventure and can start saving like Scrooge McDuck for your trip.
I suggest you keep these things in mind.
- Before purchasing tickets make sure there are theme park reservations available. This system may go away but as of now it is here and reservations are available for December 2023.
- After you purchase your tickets, immediately make your theme park reservations. Theme park reservations may only be made with an active theme park ticket or annual pass.
- 60 days before you arrive you will be able to make dining and Enchanting Extras Collection reservations. A Disney Resort Hotel Package allows you to make them 60 days before your check-in date for all days of your stay (up to 10) while those not staying on the property must go day-by-day making reservations.
planDisney Pro Tip:
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a special after-hours event and last year included Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, dance parties, special and rare Disney Characters in their holiday outfits meet and greets, as well as delicious holiday treats. You may even see it "snow" on Main Street, U.S.A. It is an awesome event. The party runs from 7:00 pm to midnight but you may get in as early as 4:00 pm. You do not need a regular theme park ticket to enjoy this experience and crowds are smaller during the event giving you more opportunity to ride the attractions and visit Disney Characters.
Sarah, please
write me back directly with any follow-up questions to help make this December the best Disney vacation ever.
Enjoy making many Magical Memories.
