Hi. If you had to choose between MVMCP and watching Fantasmic, which would you choose.Trip is Nov.28-Dec.4. May not be able to do bothsince Fantasmic is only shown on Mon.&Thur.Thanks for all your help. It has been a great help with my planning.

Hey, Carlene! The answer to your question really lies within your budget and time restraints.  Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is a fantastic special event at the Magic Kingdom complete with special entertainment and experiences that serve to usher in the Christmas season like no other. Yet, it is a separately-priced ticketed event which can get pricey...especially if you have several in your traveling party.  In addition, you have to make careful plans when attending MVMCP since you'll need to block out that entire evening (7 p.m. until midnight) -- plus, any prep time for sleepyheads in your family who may need a nap earlier in the day in order to make it past midnight for the party.

On the other hand, Fantasmic! is an incredible show filled with Disney classic music and stories and revved up with state-of-the-art pyrotechnics and other amazing special effects.  The entire show lasts less than 30 minutes, and the performance is included in the price of admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios. You can easily include a viewing in a day at DHS...especially if you book a Fantasmic! Dinner Package.

Therefore, as far as one over the other? If you think you'll return to WDW one day and the extra admission price to MVMCP is not a problem, I would go with the Christmas party, and plan to see Fantasmic! on a return trip.  On the other hand, take a look at your daily itinerary and see if squeezing in a long evening at the Magic Kingdom is even possible. If not, I would definitely take advantage of the opportunity to see Fantasmic!  I hope I've helped you more than confused you!

Thanks for visiting me on the Moms Panel, and I'm very grateful for the compliments. I certainly strive to help you make the most of your experiences. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation!
