    Can you choose a key card instead of a Magic Band. If so, how is it done?

    Welcome to the Disney Moms Panel, Kathy!

    Thanks for planning your upcoming vacation at Walt Disney World! The short answer to your question is, yes! You can absolutely choose to get a card instead of a MagicBand. Cards work in a similar fashion to MagicBands, but physically resemble a plastic credit card or driver’s license. Both MagicBands and cards allow you to travel lighter throughout your vacation.

    You will automatically receive a MagicBand if you stay at a Disney Resort hotel, however you can request to swap your MagicBand for a card through your My Disney Experience account. 

    As a side note, once your MagicBands or cards have been linked to your My Disney Experience account, either can be used interchangeably as long as they are set to “Active”.
