What choices does my son have for breakfast at the resorts? He has allergies for gluten, soy, wheat and milk. Do you have any suggestions. Please let me know. Thanks.

    Rubina:

I understand your concern for a family member with food allergies as my mom has similar ones.  You are smart to do a little research ahead of time.

Although most guests find the Disney chefs to be super accommodating to guests with allergies (and pride themselves on talking to the guests prior to the meal), my recommendation would be for you to look at the menus of the resort restaurants yourself, as you will be able to see which items your son can tolerate, before you make your reservations.  Although many of Disney's restaurants now have their menus on the www.disneyworld.com website, I have found that I use the menus at www.allears.net to be more user-friendly as I can toggle between menus faster without downloading.  Just click on 'dining' at the top of its main page.

Another interesting item to note at www.allears.net is its category for "Special Dietary Needs" on the left-hand side column once you get to its dining section.  You'll find helpful advice from other Disney guests on what they found to meet their diet requests.

Lastly, my best advice is to rent a refrigerator for your room as they cost around $10 to $15 a day and may be worth not only the cost but the hassle of finding exactly what you need.  You can even have www.gardengrocer.com deliver what you need to your room!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
