    We have he choice between the Carribean Beach Resort or the Wilderness Lodge for our family's first te to visit DW. Our kids are 7 & 3. Does anyone have any suggestions which one is better and why?

    Hi Christi, I am super excited for you and your family planning your very first trip to Walt Disney World. As the excitement and anticipation build, I hope I can offer some things to consider for making your resort choice.

    Personally, Wilderness Lodge is my absolute favorite resort on property. Tucked back a bit from the other Magic Kingdom resorts, but still close enough to the Magic Kingdom via boat, this resort has so many amazing things to offer. First of all, the majestic lobby and entrance of the hotel are simply awe-inspiring. It also has one of my favorite places to dine, Whispering Canyon Cafe. Your kids are the perfect age to enjoy it. The cast members are truly memorable with their over the top interaction with the guests. The food is mighty tasty and very filling and the atmosphere is full of excitement. This is a perfect place to get your morning started right with breakfast or a great place to have lunch to break up your day at the parks. There is also Fire Rock Geyser, that erupts every hour from early morning to late in the evening. Another fun complimentary activity is a hidden Mickey hunt. Just head to the front desk/guest services and ask for the clue sheet. It's a fun way to explore this amazing resort. In regards to the rooms and amenities, Wilderness Lodge will be a slight upgrade since it is considered a deluxe resort. The main difference will be a slightly larger room and bathroom/vanity area. Wilderness Lodge rooms are also accessed by interior hallways which can cut down on the noise level. The other difference is the transportation. Buses depart from one main depot, whereas, Caribbean Beach Resort has multiple bus stops, which could add to your travel time.

    Don't get me wrong, Caribbean Beach Resort is a fun resort and I have stayed there several times and never been disappointed. However, between those two, I would personally choose Wilderness Lodge.
