Hi David,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you are planning to use one of the
Disney dining plans. My family has found the Disney Dining Plan to be a great value and we love the flexibility of the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan!
Unfortunately, we cannot exchange a child's dining credit for an adult dining credit (quick-service or table-service). The pricing for children and adults is different on the dining plans so children 3-years old to 9-years old must order off the children's menu where available. I did call to confirm this answer with a cast member.
Remember that when using a dining plan, your meals are allotted per night of stay. So for a five night trip, each guest 3-years old and over would receive two meals per night (1 quick-service and 1 table-service) for a total of 10 meals. We like to have dinner on the day we arrive and breakfast on the day we depart so we have to plan accordingly. Once I have made all of our
dining reservations, I create a chart and I count to be sure we do not have more meals planned than we have meal credits.
I also checked the menus for various restaurants to be sure that the children's menus have healthy options. One of our favorite restaurants,
50's Prime Time Café has served a grilled salmon from the kids' menu that our girls loved on prior visits.
David, be sure to download the
My Disney Experience Mobile App so that you can keep track of your dining reservations and meal credits!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
