I have children who like using swim trainers to help aid their own swimming. It’s not considered a life jacket but it acts similar to life jacket with a vest that has less padding to hold them up. Would this be allowed on castaway cay?

So nice to have you aboard, thanks for your question!

In checking the current list of prohibited and restricted items, I see that boogie boards and inflatable pool floats are not allowed on board. If your swim vests are solid padding, like a life jacket, they will likely be permitted on your cruise. That being said, guests are ultimately required to follow any lifeguard instructions during their swimming adventures. Please be safe!

Disney provides complimentary flotation vests for kids on the ship and at Disney Castaway Cay so that everyone can "just keep swimming" as long as they'd like! You might want to use the provided vests and save the luggage space for other items. Packing for a family trip is always a challenge! There are also some fun items you can rent to keep you afloat at Disney Castaway Cay, like an Aqua Trike, a Paddle Boat, or a tube!

Speaking of packing, take a look at this list to get a good start! If your kids love to swim then you'll definitely want to keep their swimming suits in your carry-on bags on embarkation day. That way they can dive right in as soon as the pool is open when you board the ship!
