My Children are 9 and therefore a vaccine is not available for them yet. Are they still required to wear a mask? If so, is it just indoors?

    Hi Holly! Welcome to planDisney.

My family just returned from our summer vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort, and we had a total blast! I'm so excited to see you'll be arriving soon with your Mouseketeers.

You can find the most up-to-date guidance on face coverings on the Returning to a World of Magic webpage. Currently, Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear face coverings indoors and from entering to exiting each attraction. Face coverings are required of all Guests on Disney Bus Transportation, the Disney Skyliner, monorail, and Disney's Magical Express. That guidance is subject to change, so please check again before you leave for your visit. I also recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog for updates and travel tips.

My youngest is 9 too, and he was comfortable wearing his mask indoors during our Walt Disney World Resort vacation. He also wore it outdoors when the crowds were heavier. My pre-teen is vaccinated and she felt more comfortable wearing her mask in crowds - for example, in the stretching room of the Haunted Mansion or when we were waiting for the Happily Ever After fireworks spectacular.

Thank you for stopping by with your question, Holly! You have so much summer fun to look forward to, including sipping and tasting around the world at the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, which starts in just a few days. Be sure to save some appetite for all the tasty treats - there's nothing quite like exploring the World Showcase and stopping for all the snacks along the way. Take me back!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
