Ahoy, Ashley!
Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like your family is rolling right into vacation mode—what a fun way to travel! I love that you’re thinking ahead and making sure everything you pack is seaworthy before you set sail on your Disney adventure.
Unfortunately, while those scooter suitcases are a clever invention (and make you feel a little like Dash racing through the airport), Disney Cruise Line’s
policy doesn’t allow scooters onboard—including luggage with detachable scooters. The ship’s hallways can feel a bit like navigating the streets of Agrabah during a parade, so safety comes first for all Guests. That means these types of items can’t be used on the ship, at
Castaway Cay, or Lookout Cay.
The good news? Your young Mouseketeers will have plenty of ways to get their energy out onboard! On the newer ships like the Wish and Treasure, my kids love
heading to the Hero Zone, where we’ve had some epic family showdowns over air hockey, basketball, and ping pong. And on the Magic, my personal favorite ship, they can’t get enough of
the AquaDunk—it’s like their very own “to infinity and beyond” moment! The Dream and Fantasy are also filled with fun activities like mini golf,
Midship Detective Agency, and even the thrill of the AquaDuck. There’s so much to enjoy onboard that you’ll hardly miss the scooters!
I hope this helps you glide through your packing checklist with ease and confidence. Before long, you’ll be trading wheels for waves, zipping through the decks in search of adventure—and maybe even a Mickey bar or two!
Sea ya real soon as the tides turn toward thankful hearts and joyful journeys,
Dustin
