My children have several allergies, including peanuts, tree nuts, milk, egg, just to name a few. Do any of the restaurants at the parks use peanut oil to cook their food, such as fries? thanks

    Hi Joe!

Walt Disney World does an excellent job of catering to those with food allergies. I have food allergies myself, and have always found them to be super accommodating! First, take a look at the Walt Disney World Special Dietary Requests page for some helpful information. At last check, they've been using canola oil in their fryers, but understand that this can and does change, so please verify at each and every location.

Here are some of the best things to keep in mind when preparing for your vacation:

    1.  Please note in any dining reservations that you have food allergies.  This will put a note on your ticket that you have food allergies in your dining party. I always, always confirm that it is listed when I check in. Once you're seated, the chef will come over and take some notes about your special situation, and suggest menu items that are safe. These items will be prepared in a separate are of the kitchen to avoid cross contamination.

    2.  At Quick Service locations, let the Cast Member know before you order that you are dining with several food allergies. They'll ask the check to come and speak with you about dining options.

    3.  I would get in contact with Special.Diets@disneyworld.com about your children's multiple allergies. Do this at least 14 days before your arrival, and once you have all your dining reservations booked. They can be a great help in making sure your meals are safe!

    4.  Speak up! Something I'm sure you already know, but never assume anything. Always ask questions, and if someone can't give you an answer, kindly ask for someone that can. With food allergies, you are the first line of protection.

    Have a magical vacation!
