Hi there, Gina! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
As the mom of a child with special needs, I can say that one of the best things about
Disneyland Resort is the way that they always go above and beyond to make the magic accessible to everyone. My son has autism, and when I visit the theme parks with him, we use
Disability Access Service (DAS). This accommodation is meant to assist Guests who, due to a disability, have a difficult time waiting in a traditional queue environment.
The specific rules and policies for using DAS are always changing, so I called and spoke to a Disability Services Cast Member to inquire about the current size limit for groups using DAS. I was told that the current limit is four Guests plus the person in need of the DAS accommodation. The Cast Member who I spoke with told me that sometimes exceptions are made for larger families such as yours, but this is solely at the discretion of the Cast Member assisting you in the registration process. Also, please keep in mind that DAS return times are issued to assist the person(s) in your group who has a disability. So if your group will be splitting up, the Guest who has the DAS pass must be present and experiencing the
attraction if a DAS return time is being used.
Gina, I hope that this information helps you as you plan the logistics of your Disneyland Resort visit. If you would like to speak with a Disability Services Cast Member to further discuss your specific situation, please feel free to reach out to them. Their contact information can be found on the
Services for Guests with Disabilities page.
I hope you and your family have an amazing time at Disneyland Resort!
Samantha
