Hey there, hi there, ho there, Mike! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
Using Disney Gift Cards for your Walt Disney World Resort visit is a great way to track those vacation dollars. And it's also a perfect way to help teach your kids about budgeting, too. Way to go, Dad!
For your security, your MagicBands don't actually hold any of your personal information. When you make a purchase using them, they'll simply charge it to your room reservation. Because the MagicBands are not set up to save your info, you can't link the Gift Cards to them. But you're right that when you check in to your Resort hotel and link a credit card to your room, you can set a spending limit on your children's MagicBands (as well as your own, if you don't trust yourself!), and then pay the balances with the Gift Cards as you go.
Another option for your Gift Cards is to consolidate them all into one card. I've never tried this before, but my fellow panelist Amy M. has some tips on how combine the cards by phone. You can also visit the Disney Gift Cards website and transfer your card balances under the "Manage Cards" tab. You'll still need to visit the front desk of your Resort hotel to pay your balances, but at least it would cut down on the number of cards to keep track of.
I hope this helps you and your little shoppers have a wonderful time at Walt Disney World, Mike. Please stop by and see us again if you have any more questions. We love to help families plan their practically perfect vacations!
Keep Disney Dreaming,
Kathy K.
