Our children are planning on taking part of the allowance they earn to Disney World. Are the prices on the Disney Store website comparable to similar products sold at the parks? We want to make sure they take enough money, without going excessive.

Hi Kyle! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

It has been my experience that the prices at the Walt Disney World Resort are comparable to the online prices at the Disney Store Online. It is important to note however that prices and product offerings are subject to change without notice.

I love that your children are going to be using their allowance towards the purchase of their souvenirs. That is such a great lesson in financial responsibility and I personally have found that they think their purchases out much more when they are spending their own money. One of the really neat things that I like to do is trade in the kid’s spending money for “Disney Dollars.” These dollars are the official currency of Disney Parks. They are available in $1, $5, and $10 denominations. My kids really get a kick out of the Disney Characters on the Disney Dollars. We always set a spending limit for the kids. They know that once their Disney Dollars are gone, they have met their souvenir spending limit for the duration of the trip.

I hope that your family has the most magical time!
