My children are older, ranging from 11 to 17. Disneyworld and Disneyland used to be their favorite vacation destinations hands down. Now that they are older, they do not want to visit. How do I convince them that it is still a great vacation ?

Welcome to the Moms Panel, Joseph.  Thanks for coming to me with your question!  You have directed your question to someone who has always loved the Disney Parks.  I think it's important to think about how you might change your vacation style at the Parks with older kids.   When your children were small, you may have wanted to get to the Parks at opening so they could go back to the resort for a break.  Now that they are older,  they will probably want to sleep in.  Does that sound about right? Take advantage of Evening Magic Hours. There's something about riding Space Mountain at 11pm that never gets old, trust me!  You may have skipped things like Downtown Disney at night when they were young, but a visit there now might just be a favorite part of their vacation.  I don't know if you have boys or girls, but TrenD is a shop that any teen or tween girl will adore.  Boys and girls are also sure to enjoy ESPN Club which is a restaurant located on the Disney Boardwalk.  Afterwards, the lively Boardwalk area is sure to please everyone in your family.

I'm not sure of your comfort level with this suggestion, but your kids may also want to venture out on their own.  We all know how much older kids love having some freedom from the parents. You might consider setting a time and place to meet in the Park while letting them wander a bit on their own together?  Obviously, this one has to do with your comfort level.

Please feel free to let me know if I can assist you again with your planning.

I wish you a truly MAGICAL vacation.
