Welcome to planDisney, Holly!
The age requirements for the Youth Activities areas are strictly enforced for the safety of the young Guests. Guests aged 3 to 10 years will need to go to
Disney's Oceaneer Club or
Oceaneer Lab, and Guests ages 11 to 14 can go to
Edge. They will be able to spend time together in the same Youth Activities space during Open House. All Open House times will be available in the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app, so make sure to have that downloaded before boarding the ship.
When it was my time for my son to transition from Disney's Oceaneer Club to Edge, he did not know what to expect, but I dropped him off in the morning and did not see him again until dinner time. He loves going on scavenger hunts and playing video games. He usually finds others to go and grab some lunch and ice cream with. We checked in with each other throughout the day using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app chat feature. I hope your newly 11 year old will like it just as much!
There are activities outside of the youth activities spaces for them to enjoy together, though. They can go to the pool and watch Funnel Vision, see a movie in the
Buena Vista Theatre, have their pictures taken with their favorite characters during
meet and greets, or compete in trivia together. There is so much to do on Disney Cruise Line!
I know this may not be the news you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps you all get prepared for a great vacation on Disney Cruise Line. If you have any other questions, come back to visit us at
planDisney. We are happy to help.
Happy Planning!
