Hi Tracy! We are so happy you found your way to
planDisney where my fellow panelists and I love infusing magic into your vacations. I can see that you are heading to the Happiest Place on Earth just as
Halloween Time is kicking off! Truly, one of my favorite times of the year to visit! You can feel the buzzing of those happy haunts as soon as you enter the Main Entrance Gates and from your first sight of the giant Mickey pumpkin at the top of Main Street, U.S.A. ... and it's the only time of year to visit
Haunted Mansion Holiday to see what Jack Skellington, Sally, and the rest of the
Night Before Christmas crew has done with the place! There are lots of treats (and not so many tricks) around each and every corner!
Don't you just love sharing the magic with your little Mouseketeer?! It sounds like you are making this trip a family affair and your 10-year-old will be along for this magic carpet ride! I have so many memories of visiting with my parents and now to share that with my own kiddos is just truly one of my greatest joys! Typically, children under the age of 18 are not required to show identification when entering the parks. I know the
age of 10 crosses you into Disney adulthood with theme park tickets, so it is the honor system that each Guest is purchasing the correct ticket for their age.
My daughter was nearly 9 on our last trip, and while we left all the princess dresses at home for the first time, she was VERY into all the thrill attractions and conquered each and every mountain! It's just so much fun to watch the magic grow with these kiddos and meet them in their moment! It was just as fun watching their eyes light up with wonder when seeing Mickey and Minnie for the first time or that first wave from Cinderella, but in a different, more grown-up way. I was so excited to now have a buddy for
Space Mountain! While these memories last forever in my heart, I also like to capture these moments with some special photos. Usually, we take a photo in the same spot each visit, which for us is over to the right of Sleeping Beauty Castle by Snow White's Grotto. It's a little off the beaten path but has the best view of the castle (in my opinion!). Since there is a little moat between you and the castle, you don't get too many fellow Guests in the shot, making it a magical memory. While we usually just ask a fellow Guest to snap our photo, next time I'm definitely booking one of the new "
Capture Your Moment" sessions, which is a private 20-minute photoshoot with a Disney PhotoPass photographer! I can't even imagine how special these will be!
Tracy, I hope this was helpful in your planning! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at planDisney!
Magic awaits!
