Welcome to planDisney, Lauren! I'm glad that you sailed by with your question as you get ready for your exciting adventure on Disney Cruise Line.
For closed-looped sailings, meaning your cruise starts and ends at the same U.S. port, such as yours, the required
travel documentation for U.S. Citizens is either a U.S. passport or an original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate and a physical government-issued photo ID (digital/mobile state-issued IDs are not valid to sail at this time). Children ages 15 years or younger are required to present a U.S. passport or an original or copy of their state-issued birth certificate; a government-issued photo ID is not needed.
Whether it is a U.S. passport or a birth certificate, you will need to upload a scanned copy during Online Check-In and bring the physical copy with you to the port on embarkation day. Without proper documentation, you or your family will be denied boarding.
Disney's Oceaneer Club and
Oceaneer Lab are great youth activities spaces that your children may want to visit. Disney's Oceaneer Club has great interactive spaces with themes of some popular Disney movies such as Toy Story and the Star Wars franchise. The Youth Activities staff in Disney's Oceaneer Lab encourage young Guests to be creative by playing games and participating in guided activities such as science labs. You all can stop by and check them both out during the Open House time on embarkation day. They can get familiar with the space with you with them.
Lauren, if you have any other questions about your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation, come back to visit us at
planDisney.
Happy Planning!
