Our children are giving us a trip to Disney for our 50th Anniversary using their DVC points. We are excited about the trip but have some questions. They are letting us select the resort. Is there a resort that is catered more to older adults?

Howdy Myrna!  Let me first congratulate you on your 50th Anniversary!!  That is wonderful and inspiring!!

This is a fabulous gift you are receiving from your children.  I know you will enjoy every moment of your celebration at Walt Disney World.

One of the nicest things about all of the one bedroom villas and larger at the Disney Vacation Club resorts is that the bedrooms do not enter straight into the resort hallway.  The living room area of your villa turns into a sound barrier, which is wonderful no matter what your age.

As you are deciding on your resort, you might consider Disney's Old Key West Resort.  It's the original DVC resort and one of our home resorts.  It's also one of our favorites.

The villas are very spacious and the resort is beautiful and typically pretty quiet.

There are four pools at the resort.  You will most likely find a lot of families at the main pool but the other three pools are located throughout the resort and usually offer a quiet and relaxing respite.

You can take a boat to Downtown Disney from the resort and enjoy great shopping and dining too.

If you have questions about Old Key West, any of the other DVC resorts or need further information as you plan your vacation, please let me know.

Enjoy your magical celebration and be sure to let Member Services know what you are celebrating when you make your reservation.  When you check-in to your resort, be sure to ask for a button to commemorate your 50th Anniversary.  You never know when a Cast Member might add some magic to your vacation!!
