My children are getting some Disney Gift Cards from family members for our up coming visit to Disney in April. They want to know if they are able to put gift cards their own money and onto their own magic band to spend.

    Hi Mary,

I love using Disney Gift Cards for everything at Walt Disney World!  It's so convenient, and they really do make the best presents:)

You can't link your Disney Gift Card to your MagicBands, but if you're staying at a Disney resort, you can put a credit card on file and use your MagicBands to have those charges applied to your room.  You can then return to your resort, and pay for these charges with your Disney Gift Cards.  I usually wait until the night before I check out.  You can also apply all of the gift cards to your resort account when you arrive.  The amount of the cards will then be deducted from your bill.

If you aren't staying at the resort, your kids will just have to use their gift cards at each transaction.  Honestly, It doesn't take any more time than swiping your MagicBand does.

I hope this helps.  Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question.  Have a magical trip!
