Hey there, Christopher. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
I think you will be happy to know that kids under the age of 3 can eat for free at Walt Disney World. I love that because young kids eat so little and are typically very selective of what they eat. It really can save quite a bit of money.
Here is how it works:
- When dining at all-you-care-to-enjoy restaurants like 'Ohana or Chef Mickey's, your little one is free to eat as many of their own plates as he/she would like.
- At table service restaurants or quick-service dining locations where you order a single entree off of a menu, your child, under 3, is able to plate share with anyone at the table free of charge. If you wish to order them their own plate of food, however, that would be an additional charge.
I should mention that with everything going on currently, character dining locations are limited. In fact, 'Ohana is temporarily closed with no reopening date announced. Chef Mickey's has just opened back up but does look a little different. Instead of the restaurant being buffet style where you serve yourself, your meal is now served to your table family style. It's still all-you-care-to-enjoy, however. Chef Mickey's is also only taking reservations for breakfast until 12:00 p.m. While characters are still out and about, at the moment, they are not doing meet and greets at each individual table. Instead, your beloved friends are dancing, waving and posing for pictures from afar. I recently enjoyed breakfast at another character dining location,
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera and had a great time. I actually took some of the best selfies I've ever gotten with my girl, Minnie Mouse. So don't let these new restrictions talk you out of character dining. It's still a lot of fun.
Here is a list of the character dining options currently accepting dining reservations:
- Chef Mickey's
- Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera
- Garden Grill Restaurant
- Hollywood & Vine
I hope this helps with your planning, Christopher. If you have any other questions about visiting Walt Disney World right now, I'd love for you to come back and
ask me.
Enjoy!
