I have 2 children in my family list. The app shows a need for a code to link them. Where is the child’s code

Welcome to planDisney, David! Thank you for reaching out with your question. How exciting that you’re getting everything set up in your My Disney Experience account to make the most of your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation! I’d be happy to help you understand how linking codes work, especially when it comes to connecting your children’s profiles, so you can ensure your whole family is ready for all the magic and memories ahead!

In the My Disney Experience app, the linking code is found by opening the menu with the three lines in the bottom right corner and selecting Profile under Account. When you scroll down, you’ll see an option called “Show My Linking Code.” That generates a QR code and a six-digit code that someone else can use to connect to your account by scanning it or typing it in under their Family & Friends List using “Add a Guest” and choosing to scan or enter a code.

However, when it comes to children’s profiles, things work a little differently. If the child is under thirteen or if their profile is managed by an adult, that profile won’t have its own linking code. Instead, the adult who manages the child’s profile controls all the planning for them. To connect the child to another account, the adult has to go through the “Add a Guest” option and either search for the child by name or select “Find through my connected Guests.”

If you don’t see a linking code next to your child’s name, it’s because they don’t have an individual login. You’ll need to handle the linking through your account, or if another adult needs to connect to the child, you can share planning access from your Family & Friends List by selecting the child’s profile and choosing “Share Planning With…” instead of using a code.

David, I hope this helps you feel confident about linking your children’s profiles in My Disney Experience so your whole family can share in the planning and magic together. Once everything is connected, you’ll be all set to make Lightning Lane selections, dining reservations, and more with ease. Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. Wishing you and your family a vacation filled with unforgettable memories, laughter, and plenty of pixie dust from beginning to end!
