Hi there Larry and welcome aboard planDisney; it's great to see you come back to us for a question related to
Disney Cruise Line!
I began cruising from an early age and earned my sea legs as a young Prince chasing the horizon. While some cruise lines didn't necessarily recognize loyalty for younger passengers who weren't adults, Disney Cruise Line certainly did!
You'll be happy to hear that your
Castaway Club benefits begin
after completing your first cruise, no matter what age you are. I remember being in
Disney's Oceaneer Club and meeting kids who had already attained Platinum status! It's funny looking back and remembering how aware the kids were that there were different colors for Key to the World Cards or lanyards but not really comprehending what it all meant.
There are two things to be aware of in our experience with younger Castaway Club members:
- If they're staying in a stateroom among guests with varying membership levels, then the benefits that apply to their voyage will be based on the highest membership level attained within that stateroom.
- Though they may be entitled to certain perks, some age requirements may still apply - such as complimentary dinner at Palo.
(Note that these policies and offerings are always subject to change and availability.) I would definitely reach out to the friendly Crew Members at the
Guest Services Desk on board or
contact Disney Cruise Line in the event of any discrepancies, in order to confirm whether certain past sailings have contributed to your Castaway Club status over the years.
Whether you're a seasoned sailor like me or just getting your feet wet on board, it's great to see new members join the Castaway Club year after year!
Here's to your future voyages with adventurers of all ages!
