Hi Jack!
Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with this question before your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins later this week.
Jack, the
My Disney Experience Mobile App is a handy Mouseketool in the parks. You can manage your plans from here and use time-saving features like
Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering and
Merchandise Mobile Checkout. To download and use the app, you must log into a
My Disney Experience account profile, and you must be at least 13 years old and have a valid email address to set up an account.
Even if your children don’t have the app, they can use
MagicBand+ to enter the theme parks and any attractions they have a
Lightning Lane pass or
Virtual Queue return time for during your visit. They can also use MagicBands to charge purchases to your room while in the parks. During
Online Check-In you can manage who has charging privileges and set up a purchasing PIN.
Disney MagicMobile Service is another option that can be used in place of MagicBands. This allows you to create a virtual pass for them that will live in the mobile wallet on your device.
Passes can be shared between Apple devices if you want them to have access to their pass from their own device. After creating their passes in your My Disney Experience Mobile App, you want to select "Set Up MagicMobile Entry" and then click "Select Passes to Share" to send them via text message to your kids.
When the time comes that you’re ready to set up accounts for your kids, I recommend checking out this
helpful answer from my panelist pal Jana. She shares how to share an existing profile you have managed with your child so they can create their own account. I'll be getting ready to do this with my oldest in just a few months and I saved this answer to help me when the time comes to set up his account!
Jack, I hope this information is helpful as you get ready to start your vacation later this week. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
Kristi
