Hi Melanie,
I suggest that you order the
Walt Disney World Vacation Planning DVD. This DVD is free of charge, and you can watch it with your family to see which attractions are the most interesting to them. I have an 8-year-old daughter, so let me share with you some of her favorite attractions in each theme park for your children's ages.
At Magic Kingdom, your older children might be ready for some of the mild thrill rides. I suggest starting with The Barnstormer, and then heading to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad if they are ready for a slightly bigger thrill. Also, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is opening this spring and is a mild thrill ride. Rides on classics such as it's a small world and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh would keep the little one busy and happy while the older ones explore the mild thrill rides.
At Epcot, your whole family can enjoy Spaceship Earth together. This slow-moving ride through the history of communication is one of my daughter's favorites. Your older children might enjoy the amazing attraction Soarin', on which you ride in a simulated hang glider over scenes of California. If your little one is at least 40 inches tall and a little bit daring, he or she can also ride Soarin'. Otherwise, your little one can enjoy nearby attractions Living with the Land, a gentle boat ride, and Journey into Imagination with Figment, a slow-moving and fun dark ride.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, the whole family can ride the amazing Toy Story Midway Mania! together on which you ride through and participate in midway-style games. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, be sure to take a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris, a ride through and African savanna complete with live exotic animals such as zebras and giraffes.
I am limited in the space that I have to answer, Melanie. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
