Our children are 13 and 10. Will they comfortably be able to share the sofa sleeper in a one bedroom villa? I'm trying to decide if we should forgo the washer and dryer in the room for them to have a real bed.

Yes, they could, but if one of them moves significantly when they sleep, it may be a recipe for disaster.  The sofa sleepers are okay comfort wise, my guys liked laying an having total control over the main television.  They were quite happy with the sofa bed, however my best friends kids shared the sofa bed in the next room and it was a disaster.  You could always try it, and if it fails to work out you could request a roll a way bed.  The beds have minimal cost per night, but weigh the cost of a cot and a washing machine to the cost of a room with two beds.
